Leaving from Cuenca y la Serranía

Cuenca city, above the gorges of the Júcar and Huécar rivers, is the gateway to the Serranía, a mountain area of pine forests and small villages stretching towards Teruel and Guadalajara. The city holds the hospital, the high-speed station and public offices, and gets tourists all year round.

Which way it goes

The A-3 crosses the province from west to east and leads to Valencia through Motilla del Palancar; the N-320 runs south from Motilla to Albacete and north from the capital to Guadalajara through La Alcarria, and the N-420 crosses the Serranía to Teruel. The AVE from Fernando Zóbel is the fast option for Valencia and Madrid, but not for other destinations.

Valencia airport is in Manises, west of the city and next to the A-3, so from Cuenca it is reached without entering Valencia. For the south-east of the province it is often an alternative to Barajas.

When demand peaks

• Summer trips to the coast (July and August): In summer, trips from the province to Valencia, its airport and the coast rise, and the A-3 gets busy on Fridays and Sundays. At the same time many people from Cuenca who live elsewhere return to their villages, with pickups at the stations.

Tip: If you are flying from the south-east of the province, compare Barajas with Valencia airport: from Motilla or Quintanar del Rey, Manises can be closer.

Airport pickup

For arrivals, the driver waits in the terminal with a name sign and helps with your luggage. We track the flight number, so a delay costs nothing extra within the terminal’s complimentary waiting time.

For early flights

We recommend leaving Cuenca at least 172 minutes before you want to be at the check-in desk. We operate through the night, always with an advance booking.
